The application and enrollment period for the statewide expansion of H2Ohio will be closing on June 30th, 2024.
The cap requirement for acreage has also been removed. Producers may enter as much row-crop land as desired in the H2Ohio program.
Ohio Department of Agriculture’s (ODA) H2Ohio program is designed to reduce nutrient runoff by incentivizing producers to implement science based, proven best management practices (BMPs) on the farm.
H2Ohio provides producers cost-saving benefits with financial and technical assistance to implement conservation practices that are proven to improve soil health and water quality.
Eligible producers (all Morrow County producers with row-crop acreage not already enrolled in federal, state and/or local programs) can enroll acreage into a Voluntary Nutrient Management Plan (VNMP) and earn a $10/acre incentive for VNMP development and approval. Producers can also earn incentives of $10/acre (basic) or $15/acre (precision) for VNMP implementation.
To Enroll, call into or visit the Morrow SWCD office at 5362 US 42, Mount Gilead, OH 43338 or (419) 946-7923.
