"Landowner Stewardship Programs" Series Announced

The Morrow Soil and Water Conservation District is glad to announce the "Landowner Stewardship Programs" Series occurring on Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30 during the winter/spring of 2025 in the 2nd floor AgCredit Building Conference Room at:

Each of these sessions, offered at no cost, aims to increase awareness of opportunities available to enhance, protect and/or preserve your acreage with the added benefits of cost-share, conservation practice payments and/or tax incentives. Individuals are welcome to join all sessions that are of interest to them. After a brief presentation on each program there will be an opportunity for the presenters to take questions from attendees.

Farmland Preservation &

Beginning Farmer Tax Credit

Farmland Preservation is a voluntary easement between landowners and the Ohio Dept. of Agriculture to permanently preserve acreage for agricultural use.


    The Beginning Farmer Tax Credit program offers tax credits to new farmers who attend a financial management program and/or to individuals that sell or rent farmland, livestock, facilities or equipment to new farmers.

Current Agricultural Use Value (CAUV)

  CAUV is an Ohio Department of Taxations program that, for property tax purposes,  places the value of farmland devoted exclusively to commercial agriculture according to its current use rather than at its "highest and best" potential use.

Conservation Reserve Program (CRP) &

Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)

CRP is a voluntary program that contracts with producers to conserve environmentally sensitive land.    


EQIP provides technical and financial assistance to producers to address natural resources concerns and environmental benefits on their acreage

       An agreement entered between landowners and a land trust that permanently limits the uses of the land to preserve its conservation or agricultural use.

   Nationwide’s program to assist families in developing effective transition plans for agricultural operations. Including the division of land, livestock and equipment among children and/or desired parties.
